2!

Ok so this post is a month overdue!  Alexis turned 2.  It was great fun to have her first second birthday as we called it.  Our first time to celebrate the birth of this little girl who God has placed in our care.  We are so blessed!  She has grown SO much since we brought her home.   It's amazing to watch the growth from the girl who couldn't support herself to the girl who is rolling around on the floor and sitting independently.  OH YES, the girl who is going to get to try out wheelchairs tomorrow (the kind you have to push!).  The girl who smiled non-stop because she only knew people to come for a moment and then leave again to the girl who wants her family and knows the difference between them and a stranger.  The girl who was on the ventilator 24/7 to the girl who is off the vent except at night (and has a sleep study next week to see if we can start to get rid of that time too).  The girl who didn't know what to do with a toy unless it was a medical supply to the girl who can sit for an hour playing with her toys.  The girl who has developed so much personality, loves her brother, and loves to be held.

She has been wearing her speaking valve ALL DAY for the past month.

We have amazing friends.  Our friend Leah made Alexis' smash cake for her birthday!  God continues to bless us with the people we have in our life.  It's just become our norm to have things thrown off by a hospital stay or a sick child and the people we have our life "get it."  They swoop in and help in a million ways.

One of Alexis' present has been a family favorite with the bubble machine!  They all love it!

Isobel has had her ups and downs since our last inpatient stay.  Many many praises to God it finally feels like she is back to herself.  She is smiling, happy, and loving every moment of school (she even has a little boyfriend Daddy has needed to talk to her about).  No more seizures but she spent such a long time not able to get over respiratory wheezes and difficulty maintaining her sats.  This past week has been a much needed turn around.

Our best attempt at a family photo on Easter :-)
