Stinker Returns

Isobel managed to scare her Dad yesterday.  For those of you who know Dad, this is no easy task.  Dave and I have a system while one of us is away from the house we text chat if it's a non-urgent question and call if it is urgent.  I got the call text yesterday followed by need you home.  Isobel was in therapy (actually crawled in her crawler by herself and was being a champ from what I hear!!) and held her breath which is totally normal for her.  What's not normal for her is when she passed out she didn't initiate another breath.  Dave had to intervene and when he put her back on the vent she wouldn't wake up.  Scary.  Into the ER we went.

There's a bit of a cold going around our house so the question became...is it a neuro thing or is it a respiratory thing?  X-rays looked good-Isobel's neurosurgeon was on call yesterday (isn't God just neat that way?) did a quick MRI just to make sure and well...sure enough...her fourth ventricle was enlarged but not enlarged like this is for sure it.  Her neurosurgeon is very thorough so she wanted to be sure her shunt was flowing.  She tapped her shunt (insert needle into shunt) and wasn't able to get good flow...to the OR she went.  Turns out her shunt was clogged and there was a significant amount of pressure released when they fixed it.  She has probably had quite a headache-sure wish she could tell us these things!  So thankful for Gods continued watch over our family.  We could be out of here today if all goes well and if we get the teams to agree.

In other news, we are closing on that house I mentioned in my last post on Friday (is that tomorrow?!?!)!!!  We are very excited about the house though a tad stressed at the moment with everything left to do and this small bump in the road :-) it's all good...it will all work out!  One step at a time!
