Isobel loves to throw us for a loop every now and again---her scope of
her lungs/airway yesterday showed she has a lot of swelling above the
trach. I guess the kind of swelling is from reflux so she was started
on reflux meds. We are relieved they found this as I'm sure it made
her uncomfortable but it doesn't have anything to do with her
breathing episodes. The sleep study was done off the vent and
captured a lot of central (brain related) episodes. Because of those
results she will be taken to the operating room soon so the
neurosurgeon can check and make sure her shunt is working properly.
There is no black and white with shunts insert Daves joke of the day,
"its all grey matter." the xrays and mri all look great but the often
find even when it looks good there can still be a clog that isnt
allowing the fluid to drain freely. Please pray along with us for
safety and wisdom as they work. She could be released as early as
tomorrow and that is what we are hoping for. Her spirit continues to
amaze us as she is so smiley and content through all of this nonsense--
An obvious gift from above!!

Thanks for the updates. Love you guys.
